Wheel bearings

Product Information

We have three generations of wheel bearing kits:

• Double row balls or tapered roller bearings
• Single flanged ball or tapered roller bearings (or flanged)
• Double flanged bearings

Wheel bearing designs are evolving and advancing all the time; designs featuring two simple bearings with single rows of rolling elements have been replaced by a cartridge that features two rows of rolling elements.

These double row ball wheel bearings) are pre-adjusted, sealed and lubricated for life. They are usually fitted on the forward drive wheel hub, although they may also be mounted on the rear drive wheel. In either case, the small footprint and easy assembly of these wheel bearings have led to their widespread use.

The single flanged ball is a wheel bearing incorporating a magnetic ring that allows extremely precise, reliable measurement of rotation speed.

Manufacturers are absorbed in a continuous quest for greater simplicity and reduced weight, so additional security functions have been incorporated into the double-flanged wheel bearing.

For Example:
Flange bearing for drive wheels: its outer ring features components that enable it to be secured to the chassis.
Hub bearing for non-drive wheels: the break disk and rim are directly secured to the outer ring. This facilitates easier assembly and improves reliability.Bi-flange wheel bearing. This incorporates two attachment-securing functions.

Lucas provides:

• A very wide range and OE Quality
• 852 references
• The necessary accessories for fitting
• Long life and durability
