The Lucas Premium Range of Calcium-silver and Calcium -tin maintenance-free batteries provide High Cranking Performance by means of expanded metal grid technology.
These high technology batteries feature centred cast-on-strap cells, a double chamber container with condensation mechanism, built-in magic eye and flame arrestor, best grade virgin lead, pp and chemicals. All are of highly robust and designed to perform in all terrain conditions, as you would expect from Lucas, one the most famous names in batteries in the world.
Al lead-acid batteries self-discharge due to impurities in the lead alloy. However, compared with other lead acid batteries, Lucas batteries use carefully selected, highly refined Calcium alloys, rendering extremely low rate of self-discharge. That’s why a freshening charge is not required for Lucas batteries until the OCV becomes 12.2V or lower.

The Lucas premium JIS range offers 15 passenger car batteries which between them cover the vast majority of the market. Offering high Calcium Plus performance, these batteries are smaller, lighter in weight and have a smaller physical size to suit medium sized cars and below, whilst still providing an exceptional cranking capacity and endurance, with up to 90 AH @ 20 hour rate.

Formatted with a 1/2 cell layout, these batteries offer high performance from Calcium technology with outstanding reliability and durability and outstanding CCA (Cold cranking amps) of up to 1400. High CCA is critical for good cranking ability. It's the number of amps a battery can support for 30 seconds at a temperature of 0 degrees F until the battery voltage drops to unusable levels.
Calcium Silver technology ensure that our top of the range Premium DIN range is the go to answer for superior quality, providing sufficient power for the largest and most luxurious cars, equipped with many electrical features and accessories. The Lucas DIN range provides higher cranking power and up to 100 AH @ 20 hour rate.
These batteries offer the same remarkable performance characteristics of our DIN Range batteries, yet are of a lower height profile, making them suitable for vehicles such as sports cars that have limited installation space. Although only 175 mm high, these batteries offer a might punch of power when you need it most.
